Better backs sporting talent to Rio and beyond

Better leisure centres in Lambeth will be supporting 72 local athletes from a UK wide £1,200,000 fund –The athletes will be supported through the GLL Sport Foundation (GSF) the largest independent athlete talent programme in the UK, in partnership with Sports Aid and Lambeth Council.

This Girl Can Swim at West Norwood Health and Leisure Centre

When it comes to going for a swim, here at West Norwood Health and Leisure Centre, we understand that it can feel a little daunting wearing your swimwear and bearing all in front of a pool full of strangers. But we dont want this to put you off swimming and the many benefits come with it.

That's why Better, in partnership with This Girl Can, have introduced special sessions just for females at your local Better leisure centre.

West Norwood Health and Leisure Centre runs weekly sessions every Tuesday from 12:00pm - 1:00pm.

On Saturday 30th January from 10am, come and join us for a swim at West Norwood Health & Leisure Centre and meet Bert the Dragon, our friendly mascot.  Bert will be around to take photos with the kids as well as taking on a table tennis challenge, all in aid of raising money for Sport Relief!

Better | Lambeth to help raise £500k for Sport Relief

Since becoming the official health and fitness partner for Sport Relief 2016, we have announced some of the ways we will help customers to walk, run, swim and cycle while fundraising £500,000 for Sport Relief.

Our staff and customers have been putting their heads together to devise a series of spectacular sporting events that will combine efforts to pool funds under #Teambetter and help those who are training for the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games, taking place Friday 18th - Sunday 20th March.

10,000 Better staff in leisure centres, gyms, pool, libraries and children’s centres will capture the energy, ideas, sporting talent and enthusiasm of users during an estimated 3 million customer visits to meet the fundraising target through a variety of sporting challenges.

£1 million funding to support athletes in Lambeth

Applications are now open for talented young sports men and women from Lambeth to apply for a share of a £1 million UK funding pot, out to help young sporting stars realise their dreams. Talented athletes have until 20th February 2016 to apply for financial awards of up to £1,250.

This class offers an effective and safe class with no worrying about child care – you can bring your baby in their buggy along with you.

A chance to take part in a Yoga class with your baby nearby, as well as an opportunity to socialise and meet new parents.

Parent & Baby Yoga will be running on Tuesday's from 11:15am -12:25pm.

Table Tennis ready for you to hire!

From Tuesday 1st September, the new Table Tennis table can be hired for members and non-members at West Norwood Health & Leisure Centre.  

 

Hourly rate £6.30 to members and non-members and £10 damage deposit for the bats.
