Cancer Research UK's Relay for Life event will take place in Bath this June for the first time.

The relay event consists of teams attempting a 24-hour non-stop walk around the cycle track at Better, Odd Down Sports Ground. All team members take it in turns to walk laps of the track, all day and all night to show cancer never sleeps!

Relay for Life has raised £23 million over 20 years across the UK.

Zoe Tainton, the Local Fundraising Manager for Bath said: “We are extremely excited for Relay For Life to come to Bath! Relay has something for everyone – it’s a celebration of life, a time to join together to remember those lost to cancer, to celebrate the lives of those that have survived and bring HOPE for the future for those currently on their cancer journey.

Tina Angell, 38, who chairs the Relay for Life group and said “Everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer. One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed at some stage in the lives, but the good news is more people are surviving the disease than ever before. There is music, local performers, stalls and games for all the family”.

Throughout 2018, Better are partnering with Cancer Research UK to help beat cancer sooner and we are proud to be supporting the event with the use of the track. We also have a staff team taking part in the event.
