ICF Canoe Sprint Junior & Under 23 World Championships took place over the 23rd – 26th of July in Portugal. 32 boats entered and faced gruelling knock out stages to reach the finals.
Trevor Thomson and his Scottish K2 partner Ieaun James won their heat on the first day firmly securing a place in the semi finals. As the competition got tougher the British crew fought a tough race and finished in third place in their semi-final, meaning they would compete in the A final on the final day of racing.
Racing against the fastest K2 200m juniors in the world. Trevor and Ieuan came in in an impressive 8th place. On the back of his success Trevor Thomson has been selected to represent Great Britain at the European Canoe Sprint Championships in September.
