Healthwise (GP Referral)

Better’s firm belief that physical activity can have a beneficial effect upon the health of an individual, underpins our commitment to the provision of a Physical Activity referral programme, ‘Healthwise’ within The Royal Borough of Greenwich.

This is a joint partnership project between Better and the Royal Borough of Greenwich to break down barriers to physical activity and to tackle health inequalities. The Better Health Team provide tailored physical activity and exercise programmes for patients with risk factors for medical conditions or for those with existing long term conditions at an affordable rate – it is a programme designed to help people manage and improve their health.

In addition to the main Physical Activity referral programme, additional elements have been introduced in order to ensure that they are relevant to the needs and health concerns of Greenwich residents. These elements include:

• Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase IV

• Adult Weight Management Courses

• Respiratory Disease (COPD) classes

• Cancer Rehabilitation

Individuals who are not already active and who have a medical condition may be suitable for referral to this programme. Please note that this service is only available to those living in the Royal Borough of Greenwich or those registered with a Greenwich GP.

To find out more information or to be referred on to this service, please speak to your Health Professional. Alternatively you can contact the Healthwise team on 020 8317 5010 and select option 4 or email the healthwise team
