The Brixton Recreation Centre staff donned their aprons and baked cakes for customers at Brixton Recreation Centre in aid of Sports Relief on Tuesday 26th January.

The day started well with over 25 cakes being made by 8 members of the Brixton team. The cake sales started at 12 noon and finished at 8pm and in that time the staff made a whopping £309.00.

General Manager for Brixton Recreation Centre, Darren Pope stated 'when the staff came up with this idea we were thinking maybe we could raise around £100, but when I saw the effort everyone had made I knew this was going to be a big total.’

The centre is also planning an 'Open Day' on Saturday 20th February between 10-4pm with all proceeds going towards Sports Relief.
