Pay & Play? Then the MCRactive card is for you.
Signing up is completely free, with no joining or annual fee. Those who sign up before the end of October will be eligible for an exclusive preferential rate for pay and play sessions at sport and leisure centres across the city.
The new card is being launched as part of Manchester City Council’s drive to remove barriers to participation in sport, health and leisure activities and to encourage as wide a range of local citizens as possible to get active.
The card will be accepted in participating sport and leisure facilities across the city, from local community leisure centres and swimming pools to national centres of excellence - including the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre, National Squash Centre and Manchester Aquatics Centre.
Anyone can register, either online or by dropping into their local centre. Those signing up before the end of October will also be entered into a free prize draw for the chance to win an iPad Air, or an annual family activity pass.
Any current pay and play users who have booked an activity in the past will be automatically registered as an MCRactive cardholder.
Executive Member for Culture and Leisure, Councillor Luthfur Rahman, said: “If you swim in our pools, workout in our gyms, play on our courts, or kick a ball on our pitches, then the MCRactive card is for you.
“We want to make sure that as many people as possible, of all ages and from all backgrounds, are getting active at their local centres. So whether it’s for fun, or for competition, to socialise, or to pursue your personal fitness goals - sign up for the card today to enjoy exclusive rates, get active and enter the free prize draw.”
