Pre School Gymnastics

Parent and Child gymnastics 18 months – 3years

Our Parent andChild Gymnastics Classes offer children aged 18months – 3 years a 30 minute semi structured class.  The class starts with a structured warm up, during this part of the lesson children are introduced to various gymnastics balances, jumps and shapes.  The children are also given the opportunity to play and learn with hand held equipment such as ribbons and balls. After the warm up the children are encouraged to follow the gymnastics obstacle course where they can balance, jump and roll.  The class offers a great introduction to gymnastics and helps develop young children’s balance, coordination strength and social skills in a fun environment.

Pre School Gymnastics 3 – 4 years
Our Pre School Gymnastics Classes are independent sessions for children aged 3 -4 years.  This class is a great follow on from the Parent and Child Gymnastics, but also caters for children who are new to the sport.   Our Pre School Gymnastics Classes are fully structured 45 minute sessions which consist of a warm up activity, followed by 3 obstacle courses focusing on bar, beam, floor and vault skills.  The class teaches basic gymnastic skills while working towards achieving the British Gymnastics Pre School Awards. 

Junior Gymnastics

Foundation Gymnastics
Our Foundation Gymnastics Classes are the first level in our junior programme and are designed to give children a good foundation in the sport of gymnastics.  The hour long sessions consist of a warm up followed by three gymnastics activities focusing on improving, balance, coordination and strength as well as learning basic gymnastic skills.  The children are given the chance to work on bars, beam, floor, trampette and vault as well as working towards achieving the British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards.   

Novice Gymnastics
Our Novice gymnastics classes are designed for children that have completed the entire Foundation syllabus and are ready to move onto more challenging gymnastics skills.  The Novice Gymnasts are given the opportunity to progress through the British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards as well as working towards achieving the novice syllabus.  

Intermediate Gymnastics
Our Intermediate Classes are designed for children that have completed the entire Foundation and Novice Syllabus and focuses on achieving more advanced skills and basic tumbling moves.  The Intermediate Gymnasts are able to finish the British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards and start working towards the Bronze, Silver and Gold Badges.  

Advanced Gymnastics
Our Advanced Gymnastics Classes are designed for gymnasts that have completed the entire Foundation, Novice and Intermediate syllabus.  The class is 1.5 hours and focuses on teaching advanced gymnastic skills across all pieces of equipment including tumbling work and somersaults.  The Advanced gymnasts are able to work towards the Bronze, Silver and Gold Apparatus, Floor, Pairs and Vault and Rebound Badges.

Donyngs Gymnastics Squad

Mini Development Squad
The Mini Development Squad is by invitation only and is designed for children under the age of 7 years.  The Mini Development squad is a pathway to Donyngs main gymnastics squad which allows gymnasts to attend county and regional competitions and the annual GYM Fusion Event.

Development Squad
The Development Squad is by invitation only and is designed for children aged 7-11years that have shown a flair for gymnastics.  The Development squad is a pathway to county and regional competitions.

Squad
Donyngs Gymnastics Squad is by invitation only and is designed for gymnasts that are capable of performing very advanced skills.  The Gymnastics squad train 5 hours a week and gives the gymnasts the opportunity to participate in County and Regional competitions as well as various local events and the British Gymnastics Gym Fusion events.
