On Friday 11th November, the 11th annual Better Club Games took place at the Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Around 750 participants aged 55+ took part in a range of events including; swimming, cycling, table tennis, short tennis, badminton, bowls, darts and dominoes from 21 partnerships- the largest event yet.
The event was opened by Mark Sesnan and competitors and staff recognised the 2 minutes silence to commemorate Armistice Day during the opening ceremony.
GLL Sports Foundation athletes and Rio 2016 Olympic Taekwondo Silver medallist Lutalo Mohammed attended to present the trophies. Former Olympian Swimmer Duncan Goodhew and PDC professional Darts player Josh Payne were also in attendance.
The event was closed with a performance from the Silver Fit cheerleading squad who practice at Brixton and Streatham.
Team Reigate and Banstead put in hard work and dedication in the build up to the event, with mini games warm-up events, trials and regular group training. Club lead Fiona Fava ensured a fun but competitive environment where all members were given the opportunity to compete.
