White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre celebrates the opening of it's gym extension

The new £1.7million extension to the gym at White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre was officially opened today by members of Vale of White Horse District Council as well as GLL. The day was made extra special by Wheelchair Tennis Paralympian Louise Hunt, who competed at London 2012 and Rio 2016, cutting the official opening ribbon.

Paralympian Louise Hunt said: “The gym extension is brilliant, when I came in here I was overwhelmed at how adaptable and accessible the equipment is to use.  The range is great and available for everyone to use, so no matter who you are come down and give it a go.”

Peter Bundey, Deputy Managing Director at GLL, said: “We are delighted that the strong partnership with Vale of White Horse District Council has meant we have been able to extend these already impressive facilities and look forward to welcoming the community, young and old, to try out the equipment.”

Thank you to all partners involved. Together this extension has meant we are able to have an additional 50 participants in the gym at once. Making more people active!
