Our fully equipped, air-conditioned gym offers a range of fitness equipment for everyone. Our members can choose from cardiovascular machines such as treadmills and rowers, resistance equipment including free weights and dedicated stretching areas and fitness aids such as Swiss balls.
For a fitness programme tailored to your needs, just ask a Better fitness instructor and they'll be happy to put together a workout to suit you.
Before using the gym you'll need to complete an induction, so our fitness instructors can check you are well enough to train. As well this gives you the opportunity to get advice about other activities the centre may offer which could help you achieve your fitness goals.
Re-focus sessions are available to you at any time, where our fitness instructors will mix up your fitness programme. Did you know that keeping your workout more varied and challenging will actually keep you much fitter?
To vary your workout why not try a group exercise class? We offer a range of
classes - from beginners to advanced level - in a fun and sociable environment.
- Aerobic - Get your heart and lungs working more efficiently and help make everyday tasks that little bit easier.
- Body - Want results? Look no further than these classes to tone and
condition your body.
- Calm - Stretch, relax, and get in tune with your body.
The Group Exercise Studio
We have one main group exercise studio for group exercise, which is large and
bright with mirrored walls. Over 10 classes a week are available, ranging from
Latino Aerobics to Hatha Yoga.
Racquet sports are a great way to stay fit and have a catch up with friends at the same time. Courts may be booked for play during selected openning hours and racquets are available to hire. Choose from:
- Badminton (6 courts)
- Table Tennis (held in studio area)
Racquets sessions are available at the below times only
Monday to Friday 7.00am - 9.00am & 5.00pm - 10.00pm
Saturday & Sunday - 9.00am - 8.00pm

With selected memberships 1 racquet court booking for 1 hour per day is inclusive with your monthly fee.

We offer a wide range of affordable, themed birthday party packages for kids under 11 years old - Sports hall parties. We also do all the preparation and we clean up, once the party is over. So you can just relax and enjoy the day!
Parties included 1 hour in the sports hall for a multi sports party (Bouncy Castle, Football, Badminton, and Basketball) and then followed by 1 hour in private room for your birthday Food. (please note we dont supply the food)
Swimming is great at any age. Whether you want to improve your technique, get fit, meet new friends, compete or have fun, you're sure to find a pool session that you'll love.
There is one Pool in the centre. The fitness pool is 20 metres long, and changing rooms on the pool side. seats are available.
These swimming sessions are designed for people of all abilities aged 16+, who want to use swimming to improve their fitness and wellbeing. Swim safety rules apply. Floats are available from reception.
Dormers Wells has a large Sports Hall, which is a multi-sport arena featuring 6 badminton courts, 2 five a side football courts, 2 basketball courts and 2 volleyball courts.
It can also be hire out for that special event

Sports Activity Courses and sessions
At Dormers Wells we work In partnership with many national governing bodies, our sports activity courses deliver high quality, comprehensive teaching for all ages and abilities. These enable you to develop skills in their chosen activity - including swimming, football, basketball - from beginner to advanced.
We also offer sessions for non members like Football and Basketball (inclusive within Junior membership)
