The Summer Reading Challenge is a scheme run by The Reading Agency to encourage children to continue reading throughout the school holidays.

Lincoln Central Library will be starting registration from Saturday 15th July, children can join the challenge throughout the summer holidays, date for completion is Saturday 9th September.

To register on to the Challenge children need to be a member of the library.  Joining the library only takes 5 minutes and will give your child access to hundreds of thousands of books and many adventures.

The Summer Reading Challenge theme for 2017 is 'Animal Agents’, the characters have been created by Tony Ross famous for his illustrations in the Horrid Henry series of books.

To complete the Challenge children are required to read 6 books of their choice, story books, picture books, easy readers, non-fiction or fiction. Children will ideally visit the library a minimum of 3 times throughout the summer. For every 2 books the Challenger reads they will be awarded a prize.
