Following the success of the pilot event in 2016, our second Open Water Swimathon took place at the West Reservoir on Thursday 7th September 2017. All 49 swimmers (both experienced and novices) thoroughly enjoyed the experience, some taking part in the individual course (1.5km, 2.5km or 5km) and others as part of a team (1.5km or 5km). Swimmers gathered top tips and inspiration from the Olympic medallist, Duncan Goodhew who also attended the event providing support for their personal challenges and contributing to a greater charity cause.

Mark Owens, West Reservoir Centre Manager, enthusiastically supported the event along with Katie Foulger, Hackney Partnership Manager, who brought Hackney volunteers together. Jo Butler was responsible for safety team.
