The launch marks the completion of a range of new attractions as part of a £11 million improvement programme – due to launch fully on 10th February 2018, including the borough’s first indoor skate park – as well as the installation of an indoor running track, climbing wall and soft play areas.
Launch events allow visitors to be the first to use the new facilities, with a range of sessions arranged to offer activities for people of all ages. Activities include athletics, soft archery, street dance, clip & climb and skate and BMX sessions.
Tony Wallace, Regional Director at GLL said: “We are delighted to welcome visitors to the new and improved Sutcliffe Park Sports Centre. In line with GLL’s ethos of making more people more active more often, we are proud to provide the borough’s newest leisure facilities – some of which are the first of their kind in Greenwich.
“With 25 new staff also recruited to help provide the best possible service to our customers, the new facilities at Sutcliffe Park will establish the centre as a valuable addition to the local community.”
