With the school holidays now in full swing, aspiring divers have been aiming to emulate the two-time world champion, by attending Splash Down holiday camps at selected Better centres across the UK with the Tom Daley Diving Academy.

Following the London Olympics in 2012, the Tom Daley Diving Academy was set up in partnership with Better, the customer brand of GLL – the UK’s largest leisure charitable social enterprise, with the aim of getting as many people as possible involved in diving no matter what their age or ability - from children having fun and learning the basics, to classes for more serious divers taking the first steps towards competition and beyond. This summer, Tom’s second World Championship success has once again led to a rise in the number of kids taking to the diving boards.

Splash Down holiday camps are the perfect place for kids to have some fun, learn new skills and impress their friends during the summer holidays. Eight-year-old Sofia Forster, who recently attended a course said: “I really enjoyed learning new skills in diving. I have never been diving before. I was scared to do a back a back flip into the water, but was amazed by the end of the week - I overcame my fear and was giving it a go.”

Tom Daley said: “I am delighted that we are getting Tom Daley Diving Academy into new areas with the Splash Down camps and giving more children the opportunity to have fun trying diving. Now you can have a go and hopefully feel the same enjoyment and passion I do when I dive.”

There’s still a final chance to experience the fun and excitement of Splash Down camps this summer, from 21st-25th August at selected Better leisure centres. For more information and to book your child’s place, click here.
