Jane Clarke, award winning Irish poet, at West Greenwich Library

Blake Morrison will introduce award winning Irish poet Jane Clarke. Jane will be reading from "All The Way Home", her sequence of poems responding to one's family experience of WW1. Her poems magine the wartime journey of Albert Auerbach and his sister Lucy. They follow him from home to battlefield to hospital and his sister's concurrent experiences at home. Albert died in action in 1918. Lucy survived the war and lived on until the early 1970's.

In collaboration with The Mary Evans Picture Library (Blackheath) and the participation of Blake Morrison and Patricia Aubrey, Albert's niece.
