Sam Greenbank has secured his place on the GB Swim Squad for the European Junior Championships in Rome, these are due to take place in July.

Sam joins a list of 24 swimmers from up and down the country, the only swimmer from a Cumbrian Club to make the squad.

Sam, following in the footsteps of Brother Luke Greenbank, made the squad after recent competitions in Glasgow.

Sam is one of many swimmers from Cockermouth Swim club who have made the grade and bagged a place on Team GB. Pierce Greening and Jacob Leach have both been selected for British swimming squads, with Jacob making a debut at the 2018 Sydney Commonwealth games with the GB para swim squad.

Coach Sean Balmer is delighted to have yet another Cockermouth Swim Club member added to team GBs swim squad. Sean said that "since 2013 we have had at least one swimmer from Cockermouth Swim Club represent Great Britain in consecutive years. this is a massive success for a club that trains in such a small swimming pool."

Sam’s older Brother Luke Greenbank, former Cockermouth Swim Club member, now Swims at the national centre in Loughborough, secured his place on the GB Squad to compete at the Tokyo Olympics later in the summer.
