Following the Government’s announcement that all public leisure facilities in England must close during the third national lockdown, the following centres in Bath and North East Somerset are now closed:
- Bath Sports and Leisure Centre
- Bath Pavilion
- Odd Down Sports Ground
- Keynsham Leisure Centre
- Culverhay Sports Centre
- Chew Valley Sports Centre
All Better memberships are automatically frozen and leisure operator Better has moved its fitness classes online to support residents’ health and wellbeing.
Working in partnership with Public Health England, Better Health is an initiative to bring health and wellbeing benefits across the country, regardless of lockdown.
As part of this, the Better UK app offers free-to-download home exercise videos and 600 online fitness classes.
Classes range from 15-60 minutes in length and include core, agility, fat burn, mindfulness and yoga and are expected to be extremely popular as Britons want to keep fit and maintain their health this winter when gyms, pools and sports halls are shut.
Jason Curtis, Better’s Regional Business Manager for the South West and Wales said:
“In these challenging times we are working hard to help our members stay fit and healthy while they are unable to access the gyms, pools and leisure facilities they would normally visit.
“As a charitable social enterprise, we’re care deeply about the health and wellbeing of local communities and are doing all we can to support them through our online offer.”
“We look forward to welcoming our customers back again when we can do so and in the meantime thank them for their loyalty.”
