Going to new heights!

Better Gym Mere Green is receiving major repair works to the passenger lift to continue the accessibility of the gym for all. Locals and those who have attended the gym will know the journey to the first floor can be a workout in itself, with the use of a lift the gym can welcome guests who aren’t able to use the stairs.

Many will remember when the gym was opened more than 15 years ago at the site and many have used the benefit of a lift. But with use over time the lift had seen better days, with the investment from GLL approved the go ahead was given to allow major works to be carried out on the lift to enable it to continue to serve many in the years to come.

The repairs include a new motor unit, electric control panel and new wiring which will help the lift operate more smoothly and be more reliable.

The repair work is expected to take two and a half weeks which does leave the lift out of use for this duration however the benefits of the short term disruption far outweigh the cons of the work and has been welcomed by the frequent users of the facility and the lift.
