Swimathon, the world's biggest annual fundraising swim, has raised a staggering £50 million in the 30 years since it began, and The Pools will be one of almost 600 venues around the UK aiming to help Swimathon raise even more in 2019.
The 2019 event will take place over three days from 29th - 31st March. Previously Swimathon has attracted over 700,000 swimmers across the UK raising money for charity. In 2019 The Pools will host Swimathon for the 6th time, as it welcomes swimmers to take part in 2 sessions over the weekend:
Saturday 30th March, 2pm - 5pm in our 25m Pool
Sunday 31st March, 10am - 1pm in our 25m Pool.
The Swimathon is an extremely good cause which is very close to the hearts of The Pools employees as we have had employees who have fought Cancer. This January Swimathon have a 35% off deal for signing up. It is an excellent challenge for anyone whether you do it as a lone swimmer or as a team, there is also a great atmosphere on poolside.
The joint charity partner of the Swimathon 2019 are Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.
Cancer Research UK, the worlds leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, will be involved in Swimathon for the first time.
Marie Curie, the UK's leading charity for people with any terminal illness and their families, has been Swimathon's charity partner ten times sinch it launched in 1986 and has raised over £17 million for the charity through the event during that time.
