Better Leisure Centres in Cornwall are proud to be supporting Children in Need this year with our Pedal for Pudsey Challenge - and we would love you to help us.

We are looking for teams of between 3 and 5 people to sign up and compete in a fun Pedal for Pudsey breakfast challenge taking place in our centre from 6.30am to 8am on Friday 15th November. All money raised will be donated to BBC Children in Need.

BBC Radio Cornwall’s breakfast programme will be broadcasting live from Better,St Austell Leisure Centre on the day – with presenters James Churchfield and Julie Skentelbury pedalling on gym bikes alongside other competitors. There will also be updates from roving reporter Naomi Kennedy who will be visiting other centres during the challenge.

Each team will be competing on the furthest distance collectively travelled in 90 minutes, the best dressed and on the most money raised. Participants don’t have to be gym members and one bike will be allocated per team.

It’s a great opportunity to get up early and take part in an enjoyable, highly entertaining charity fundraiser. Businesses, sports clubs, groups of friends – however teams are formed, everyone is welcome.

A minimum £30 donation from each team is requested – with all proceeds going to the BBC Children in Need charity. Sponsorship forms are available here and optional fancy dress is highly recommended. We also be doing a cake sale on the day with all proceeds going to Children in need .

Entries should be registered direct with our centre’s Pedal for Pudsey Co-ordinator natasha.mclean@gll.org, with limited numbers of bikes available, early booking is recommended. The challenge will end at 8am on 15 November and winners will be announced before 9am when Radio Cornwall’s breakfast programme ends.
