It’s been all systems go this week at St Austell Leisure Centre as we pull out all of the stops to make sure our fantastic facility and our team are ready to welcome back our customers from 6.30am on Monday 12th April.

Our building was put into hibernation in January so we have been very carefully bringing it back to life and restarting the more technical aspects of our pools and facilities over the last few weeks.   Its  important to get this right otherwise it can not only be very costly but can cause big service disruption, and nobody wants to wait any longer than is necessary to get back to what they love!

This week a deep clean of the whole centre has been underway to make sure we are ready to welcome our customers back to a Covid secure leisure centre.   As well as cleaning, the team have also been upskilling over this lockdown with many completing essential learning and development modules.   The team have also been completing in centre essential refresher health and safety training so that they are up to date and confident in their roles ready for restart.

As Senior General Manager Amelia explains ‘ I think many of us have found this lockdown the hardest so I am absolutely delighted that we are able to reopen on Monday.   My staff have been amazing throughout, I am very lucky to have such a committed  team;  so eager to get back and do what is required to get our leisure centre back on its feet.    We have missed our customers immensely and I am delighted to see so many booking slots filling up already for next week.    This has been a very challenging period for our business and I want to thank everyone for the ongoing support’
