Team Manager Chris Perry, rallied staff from across the partnership to don their greens, and transform into the ‘Green Machine’.

The team competed against 37 other business, in games including:

  • Rounders
  • Netball
  • Volleyball
  • Team Building
  • Tug of War
  • Plus the FAMOUS sandcastle building

And what an afternoon…the sun certainly shone… spirits were high…and a positive competiveness flowed across the team.

We all found muscles that either we never knew we had, or that hadn’t been used for some time. The latter was certainly true for many of us.

Great camaraderie amongst the teams, and the ‘Green Machine’ went full

throttle into their first rounds of the volleyball, winning their first matches, and loosing only one.

Moving onto the netball, what a pace we moved at, drawing one match and winning the rest.

Then it was rounders, with the need for some rule explanation in the first stages, the ‘Green Machine’, stonked home winning all their matches.

Final test of strength, the ‘Green Machine’ had to demonstrate pulling power in the tug of war. This unfortunately didn’t quite go to plan, and we went out in the first round.

The And….in between all the exertions of the games the team needed to work on their sand castle that started as the carriage for the Royal Wedding, looking more like a tractor, and eventually become the ‘Green Machine Racing Car’.

All in all the team had an amazing afternoon, which all would agree.

Let’s hope that next year more staff will sign up to this event.

Can we finally add a big thank you to Chris for signing us up, and to the Cornwall Sports Partnership for hosting the event.
