UKACTIVE UNSUNG HERO AWARD

Better staff, centres and projects have featured heavily among the finalists for the ukactive Awards 2018, shortlisted 14 times across eight categories.

There was also individual recognition for three Better leisure centre staff, with Shriti Raichura - Cardiac Rehab Instructor among the finalists in the Hero categories.

Shriti Raichura. Cardiac Rehab Instructor - Extremely knowledgeable and patient with the customers, has a strong following of people, most refuse to leave classes even when they are ready to progress to use the gym alone. Shriti installs confidence into the clients attending sessions and encouraging them to go back to a healthy life after life threatening conditions.

People laugh and socialize, completely comfortable exercising under her supervision. Many of these customers would have a very different journey of recovery without her. Inspiring with a wealth of knowledge in her field and an asset to GLL
