Library members at Stamford Library can use their library card to get free and fast access to the internet, email and MS Office packages following a refresh of all public IT facilities.

Improvements include the installation of new printing facilities, including multifunction devices for copying, printing and scanning. The new PaperCut printing systems allows library customers to send documents to print over WiFi or from home using their own devices.

The new computers also offer access to a variety of free online information resources, such as Ancestry and Driving Theory Test Pro, while updated WiFi means library customers can download free ebooks, eaudio books and emagazines including Good Food Magazine, Amateur Photographer, Auto Express and iPad and iPhone User. Library e-resources also include free access to over 15 million songs, to either stream or download, using online eMusic service, Freegal.

Nicola Rogers, Partnership Manager, GLL, said: “We are delighted to introduce the upgraded IT facilities to our library users, in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council.”

“We recognise that these facilities are vital resources for local people, who rely on them for educational, employment and recreational purposes.

“We look forward to welcoming more people into the Library so that they can make use of our new and modern IT facilities and discover everything else that their local library has on offer.”
