Local Ealing and Hounslow residents will have the opportunity to sign up to free tennis tasters from the 20th August onwards.

Funded by the John Lyon Foundation a free children’s summer camp for ages 5yrs – 9yrs (20 – 24 August) is now bookable now here, other activities for children and families are available on the 22nd August, and the 1st September, also bookable via the ClubSpark website.

From the 1st September the courts will be available to book at a cost of just £8 per hour, Mini Tennis courses and Adult coaching classes will also be available. For more information visit the Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub website.

The courts will also benefit from a dedicated Tennis Manager, financed by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA). The Manager will be responsible for onsite coaching, along with implementing free community outreach programmes within local schools to encourage children, who might not otherwise consider it, to try tennis for the first time.

Commenting on the new courts, Max Goodchild, Community Sports Manager for GLL said: “The new courts will be a huge asset to the local community, offering everyone regardless of age or ability the chance to enjoy tennis. We’re delighted to be able to offer a number of free and low cost sessions and look forward to introducing this hugely enjoyable sport to those who perhaps have never considered it before.”

The Sports Hub is part of the Gunnersbury Regeneration Project, which is jointly delivered by Ealing and Hounslow Councils.
