The annual worldwide celebration is a United Nations initiative, created to recognise and value the diversity of the global disabled community, cherishing the role it plays, regardless of people abilities. The 2021 theme for this world wide annual celebration is ‘Fighting for rights in the post-COVID 19 era.”

The celebration which ran from 10am-3pm was attended by 42 participants throughout the day. Councillor Adel Khaireh, Cabinet Member for Culture and Communities plus, Councillor Miranda Williams, Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care both attended the event.
