Glyndon Adventure Play Centre

Adventure playgrounds are unique and special play spaces, with many fantastic benefits to children and young people. They can be the first place where many children learn to climb, jump, swing and hang helping them to build strength, coordination and balance.

Glyndon Adventure Playground also has an external "Alien" climbing frame, a Football pitch, Basketball court and garden with a small climbing frame. Children have fun, while challenging themselves in a safe but testing environment.

For rainy days there is an indoor play area where children can participate in arts & crafts, pool, table tennis and board games or if children have homework there is a quiet space with computers

Skilled playground staffs are always on hand to ensure the safety of the children at the centre.

The centre is free ensuring that children can visit as often as they want.

Here your child can enjoy activities such as arts, crafts, pool, snooker, table
tennis, cooking, music and much more!

Summer Fun

This Summer we have loads of free activities Our opening times are 11.30am - 7.00pm and we are closed on Bank Holiday Monday.

Arts & Crafts

Arts & Crafts

Some good reason for young people to participate in arts and crafts

Bilateral Coordination

Crafts such as colouring, drawing, cutting, all require your child to use both of their hands together. This skill is important in other areas of their lives as they continue to grow, such as writing, tying shoes, typing and so much more.

Fine Motor Coordination

In order to draw shapes, cut patterns, and hand writing, your child is required to use their fine motor coordination. These skills similarly translate to other areas of their lives, such as dressing, eating, and in the academic setting.

Self Regulation

Crafts that require drying require waiting! This is a great lesson for children to demonstrate self control and patience. Also, as always things might not go exactly as we hoped! Crafts are a great way to promote flexibility in your child. There is no right or wrong way in exploring one’s own creativity!

Self-esteem booster

Although we want to challenge our children, it is also important to initially choose arts and crafts that are at your child’s skill level. Completing the crafts successfully will give them a great sense of accomplishment and pride. As children become more confident they can begin to explore more complicated and challenging forms of craft making.

Bonding and fun

Your children will love spending time with others in a friendly safe environment creating something to take home or display.

Open Access

Open Access

The purpose of the provision is to provide staffed play opportunities for children in the absence of their parents. Children are not restricted in their movements, other than where related to safety matters and are not prevented from coming and going as and when they wish.

Children have the freedom of choice as to what range of play activity they wish to undertake and with whom they play.

Children are required to complete a registration form with emergency contact information.

If you would like to fill out a form in advance, please contact us on glyndonadventureplay@GLL.ORG  and we can email one to you.
