The centre is currently supporting the ‘London Children’s Book Project’ - a voluntary organisation that helps to redistribute unwanted or no longer needed children’s books to other young people who will read them and give them a new home. Note that 4 in 10 disadvantaged children in London own fewer than 10 books.

The leisure centre is a designated donation point with the organisation distributing donations to bespoke ‘book huts’ in local schools, where local children are able to take these books to read. If you do have any unwanted books that your children have grown out of please feel free to bring them down to the centre on your next visit and leave them in the donation box at reception.

In the first 3 weeks the centre received more than 370 book donations, all of which are going into the hands of local children!
