Clapham Leisure Centre is supporting National Fitness Day on Wednesday 22nd September 2021 by offering a range of free activities which include:
|HIIT – Functional Fitness||12:15 – 12:45|
|Gym||09:00- 10:00 and 19:00 – 22:00|
|Swim For Fitness||12:00 – 13:00|
Now in its 10th year, National Fitness Day is run by leisure industry body UKActive and aims to encourage the nation to get moving and shine a light on the many benefits that being active can offer.
This year, National Fitness Day will continue under the theme ‘Fitness Unites Us’, demonstrating the inclusive power physical activity can have in uniting people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to have fun, keep active and maintain a healthy lifestyle – physically, mentally, socially, and even emotionally.
Commenting on the initiative Jeremy Lake, Better partnership manager for Lambeth said:
“It’s been an incredibly turbulent and challenging time. National Fitness Day 2021 gives us a chance to reset for the future, showcasing how fitness and exercise can help contribute to the nation’s recovery. We hope our free sessions will encourage those who perhaps aren’t used to playing sport or going to the gym, to give it a try and reap the physical, mental and social benefits that exercise and movement can offer.”
