Lambeth Walkers FC invited Crystal Palace FC womens walking football team to play a friendly match on Sunday 7th November. The match was hosted at Ferndale Community Sports Centre where the club train twice a week. The club are contiuing to develop and grow as a team and offer players competitive but fun match experience.

The successful womens team who train at Monks Hill Sports Centre have recently won a competition held at Tottenham Hotspur and are keen to play as many matches as possible whether its against a mixed or all male team.

Lambeth Walkers started strongly and scored a rapid hat-trick in the first mini match quarter. Palace started to show more composure and struck back with an impressive top corner strike from well outside the ‘D’. Lambeth scored twice more in the second half of the first quarter and that first mini game finished 5-1 to Lambeth.

Gloria was often the star performer for Lambeth Walkers being the only female player in her debut performance and bagged a well earned goal in the second quarter, but Palace also scored a couple and began to threaten to close the gap.

The match fisnhed 8 - 6 to Lambeth Walkers and was a great advert for inclusivity and walking football generally. Well done to both sides. A rematch was agreed for Spring 2022.
