REFURBISHMENT

In partnership with Lambeth Council, refurbishment work is about to begin at Better, Streatham Ice & Leisure Centre. Beginning Monday 30th October 2017 and over the coming months, £300,000 is being invested to provide a much larger, modern and dynamic facility. Works include a brand new larger strength area, a new fitness studio and changing room refresh.

 Please note all gym members excluding group exercise members can use the other gyms in Lambeth whilst the refurb takes place. 

Therefore, whilst we undertake the refurbishment, there will be some minor disruptions at the centre that you need to be aware of:

The sports hall changing rooms will be closed from Monday 30th October 2017 and converted into a brand new studio, accommodating both our existing fitness class timetable and our new hot yoga class offering. Please utilise other changing facilities available within the centre that are signposted on each floor.   

• Accessible change outside the sportshall
• Swimming pool changing rooms located on L-1
• Gym changing rooms located on L0

The toilets located next to the sports hall will also receive a refresh to improve the general look and feel. 

Refurbishment works in strength area will commence (6th November) meaning members won’t be able to access this area. However, the equipment from this section will be relocated to another area in the gym to cause as little disruption to your workout as possible. These works are estimated to last until 18^th November. 

During this period, the following improvement works will take place:

• Expansion of strength area with new flooring and lighting
• More state of the art Technogym kit installed
• Converting existing Sports hall changing rooms into a new fitness studio with hot yoga offering
• Redeveloping the existing Studio 1 to create a dedicated HIIT zone. This includes brand new functional equipment, boxing and battle rope stations as well as high spec TRX equipment.

While the works are being carried out, some of the existing equipment will be relocated to open areas in the gym to cause as little inconvenience to your workout routine as possible.       

• Over the next two weeks the current functional area will be getting new flooring, lighting and lick of paint.
• Works will also commence in the HIIT studio (current studio1) which is estimated to be competed the second week in January 2018.
• The fitness classes held in studio 1 will be scheduled in other locations across the centre. Our revised fitness class programme including temporary locations will be available to view in centre 
• WIFI has been installed in the gym for members to use for free 
• Brand new Technogym equipment has arrived and is ready to be used
