International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.  With this years campaign theme #BreakTheBias www.internationalwomensday.com

London Borough of Lewisham Leisure Centres on the day will be showing their support by offering additional Women’s Only activities aimed to inspire women to be happier, healthier, and more active. 

We will be running the following activities on the 8th March. To celebrate and support International Women's Day the centre will be opening up the following additional fitness classes in Lewisham for participants to attend (advanced booking required):

Forest Hill Pool

  • HIIT at 10:45  and 18:00

High intensity interval training is about more than lifting weights - it encompasses the entire development to improve physical performance. This includes plyometric, speed and agility, endurance and core stability with strength training being just one piece of the jigsaw.

  • Gym floor sessions (ask the instructor) 12:00-14:00
  • Aqua session 19:00-20:00

Water based work out. Aqua aerobics is similar to a normal aerobics class, but since it's done in the water, it places less strain on your joints. Aqua aerobics also helps to strengthen the body because the water offers resistance. Water has much more resistance than air. are worked in each movement

  • Spin class 09:00-09:45

For those who love a fast paced spinning class to burn calories at high intensity to an energetic beat.

 Glass Mill Leisure Centre

  • Ladies Swim only 19:00-20:00
  • Aqua 20:00-21:00

  • Group Cycle– 17:30-18:30

  • Free boxing session for 8-15 year olds girls Only Swimming 18:00-21:00 run by Honor Oak Boxing club 16.30-17.45
