Canons Leisure Centre plays host to a Regional Gymnastics Competition!

On Sunday 27^th October, Merton Gymnastics Club hosted their annual invitational gymnastics competition at Canons Leisure Centre. With almost 100 competitors taking part, from Merton and 3 other visiting clubs, the event was a success. There were two types of competition; a Trampette & Tumble section, and a Women’s Artistic section, which also featured beam and bars. Medals were awarded to 1^st, 2^nd & 3^rd places, with ribbons for gymnasts in 4^th-6^th place. Trophies were also awarded to the all-around champions in the Women’s Artistic event.

Positive feedback was received from spectators and participants, with the visiting clubs looking forward to returning next year. All money raised will go towards new equipment for the club and Lessons & Courses pupils.

Thank you to the coaching team at Canons, as well as the volunteers and gymnasts, who helped to ensure the smooth running of the event on the day.
