Swimathon A Smash Success!
The annual Swimathon event was held in Wimbledon main pool hall on 31st March.
We had two sessions in the day 1-4pm and 4-7pm, with a total of 39 participants taking part, consisting of teams and individuals challenging themselves to different distances from 1.5km up to 5km.
We were represented by many different age groups from 7 all the way to 69 years old. This was a great day organised by Cameron, one of our Senior Recreation Assistants.
Overall we raised an outstanding £4,797 for both Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie. The total amount raised through fundraising across all centres for the Swimathon Foundation was £1,816,663.
A very big thank you to everyone who took part and donated to this worthy cause. We look forward to an even bigger and Better event next year!
