Commending Grass Roots Football and its contribution to star players like Harry Kane

On Saturday 10th July 2021 at 10:30am Phil and Mark from sky news visited Peter May Sports Centre, to interview Ridgeway Rovers Football Club on the 3G pitch to film games in action of the club that Harry Kane used to play for, Ridgeway Rovers

Harry Kane, England's striker, is one of Ridgeway Rover's Alumni. He has a long history with the team and has played many games at Peter May Sports Centre. It is here where he began to develop his technical ability and the beginnings of his illustrious career

Sky News interviewed 2 – 3 children from Ridgeway Rovers, along with a few of the coaches who spoke about what it means to them for England to have reached the finals of the Euros knowing that Harry Kane has now come to be one of the top captains starting off at their club. Not only has Harry been inspiring to Ridgeway Rover players, he is an icon star who along with the whole of the England team had unified and motivated a nation

We all prayed, we wished and we cheered as England progressed through every stage of the tournament. The England team has only grown from strength to strength with every pass (86% accuracy), tackle and shot on target. It can be said hard work did pay off, to reach the monumental finals we all hoped! For some that’s a career game, regardless the result.

The 3 times golden boot holder Harry Kane as always came through and made it look easy! He is a true inspiration for everyone in the team, across the country, from all grass roots clubs and their home grounds such as Peter May Sports Centre.

A humble man, great attitude  till the end of the tournament
"not all super heros wear capes, they sometimes wear football boots"
Thank you Harry, Thank to the whole of the England Team

Looking forward to Qatar 2022, Peter May Sport Centre team
