Mini Athletics – Bring out the inner athlete in your Children

Mini Athletics at Peter May Sports Centre!? Don’t worry, Athletics hasn’t transformed into bitesize sports! We have got your Monday morning plans sorted!

Lace up those trainers and let's get moving, sessions that are held within the Sports hall, Mini Athletics activities are for those little feet that wiz around your home, and YES those with bigger feet are encouraged to get involved too.

#ALLWELCOME

Mini Athletics is coming up to their 1st year anniversary and have seen the club numbers grow month after month. They provide a wide range of weekly changing themed activities for children up to the age of 7 years; children not only develop the physical fitness, but also cognitive and social skills. As we can all agree, they go hand in hand.

So, come along and you might even be lucky to meet their mascot.

NHS Physical Activity guidelines for children and young people

What is considered to be moderate activity?

The goal is to engage in activity that encourages you to breathe faster and will resultantly increase your hear rate. A method to check if you or your young person is participating in moderate activity is by having moments of conversation whilst being active, yet you will not be able to sing
