As week six in lockdown ended, Better's Libraries, Health Team, Community Resilience Teams and Volunteers pulled out all the stops to support local communities up and down the land.

Library Staff in Bromley, Dudley, Greenwich, Lincolnshire and Wandsworth continued to rack up thousands of views of their facebook videos for rhymetime, storytime, crafts, gardening, baking and more. Over 350 videos have been produced so far and unique views are now approaching 200,000 – with an average of 500 views per video.

A big hit was Bromley Libraries delving into their archive to celebrate VE Day - with rare videos, photos, interviews and newspaper articles revealing the unique times residents were living in 75 years ago today.

Residents are now being asked to share their 'Lockdown 2020 Memories' that will be similarly archived for future generations.

To meet demand for home activities, Better at Home provides exercise videos, health and wellbeing tips and much more. To view these, download the Better UK App from the Apple store.

Better customers are making 27,000 downloads of home exercise classes, diet tips, customer discounts and much more each week.

The Better Health Telephone Support Service - with staff based at home during the COVID-19 pandemic - is continuing to call nearly 4,000 participants on the Heathwise programme who are at home and in need of motivational support to continue their physical activity regimes. So far nearly 1,000 customers have been reached, with some signposted to other useful services in lockdown.

Elsewhere in Manchester, facilities have been made avaiable for NHS Staff to relax and recover from gruelling shifts in the city's hospitals.  While in Cumbria and Waltham Forest, car parks have been re-purposed as COVID-19 testing centres.

Several Leisure Centres in London have been re-opened as Food Distribution Centres.

As part of this week's tribute to the NHS, the London Aquatics Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park put up some great images shared on social media - including one to mark Captain Tom’s heroic fundraising effort.
