On Tuesday evening we hosted our very first mixed adult football session, which saw men and women of varied abilities and ages lace up their books and take to the pitch in an entertaining and competitive match which ended 19-18!

The game was played in high spirits with some excellent football on show and chances were in abundance at either end!

These drop-in sessions will now run on a weekly basis, 7pm – 8pm and are just the beginning of our plans to develop it into something on a larger scale in which we hope to gather enough players to create additional teams and therefore a round robin tournament format which will be overseen by an FA Qualified Referee.

We also plan to develop this further by giving players the option to track their weight loss journeys by ‘weighing in’ and recording their progress with us after the match should they choose to do so.

Next Tuesday will be our final free session, and then this will become bookable through our App’ and website. So we encourage you to pass the word around by asking your friends, family and co-workers to come and get involved, no matter what their ability, all are welcome!

In addition to this, did you know that we also host football sessions for children? They are held by an FA qualified coach and involve fun football games and activities for all abilities with the aim of helping to develop social, psychological, physical and technical skills. These are available for children aged 4-6yrs on Tuesdays from 16:30-17:15 and 7-10yrs on Thursdays from 16:30-17:15 which are all bookable on our app and website. Participation in these sessions has increased dramatically since being launched and they continue to grow each week.

We hope to see some more new faces next week so just register your attendance for the free session with us by emailing GymSleaford@GLL.ORG
