Feb 2020 Half Term Activities
Here at Sleaford Leisure Centre we believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn how to swim. Our Swim School will be holding a variety of fun and also educational classes over the February Half Term to keep your little ones busy and help them develop their skills!
We start off with a water confidence class designed for beginners with no water experience or those in Stage 1 who are struggling to feel confident putting their head in the water. This small skills class will encourage them to feel comfortable with being in the water.
Then we’re holding a Handstands and Somersaults workshop for any child in stage 5 or above! In this class they’ll have fun learning to complete handstands underwater and work on their somersault technique!
On Wednesday we’re holding a Breaststroke workshop for children in Stage 4&5 this class will help any child who simply needs to focus on this stroke to pass their class.
We’ll then be holding a Synchronised Swimming class for children in stage 6 and above. This is a really fun class that allows the children to put the skills they’ve learnt so far into practice.
Thursday we’re focusing on distances particularly 5m and 10m. We’re holding two sessions designed for those in Stage 1 and 2 who want to have a go at swimming 5m or 10m either to pass their level or simply to build confidence.
We also have 1-2-1 sessions available to book with our swimming teachers!
As usual any member of our swim school gets free swimming included in their monthly membership! (please note: children under the age of 8 or who are not competent swimmers must be accompanied by a paying adult or member)
Junior Pay As You Go members will be able to swim for £1 on Tuesdays and Friday’s between 13:30-16:00.
