The Beacon 50+ Table Tennis Club was set up to give elderly participants the chance to take part in an activity in a fun and social environment with less emphasis on competing. We also hoped to tackle the other community issues of isolation and building up people's health by preventing falls prevention.
Kath Herbert, aged 91, has been a regular at the club since it was formed in February 2018 and was awarded with her attendance at a special ceremony on the 17th December. What makes Kath so remarkable ( and inspirational in no small measure) is that she’s 91 and still going strong. She also still does aerobics too, most Tuesdays, at the Beacon.
The 50+ Table Tennis Club takes place every Wednesday from 12.30-14.00.
