Community Games Day at the Centre proved to be a great success, as around 800 people attended, it was definitely our biggest event yet.

The day started at midday continuing through to 5pm and featured a variety of sports run by the centre, while it also hosted sessions run by local clubs as well as local organisations bringing exhibition stalls.

Hannah Paling, active communities coordinator, organised the event and said: “We run it every year and it’s all about getting people active and trying something new, as well as promoting local clubs and showcasing what’s on offer in the area."

Sports included tennis, rounders, toddler’s soccer and walking football, a dance demo and workshop, Badminton, cricket, hockey, tri-golf and a bouncy castle and slide to name a few.

Paling said: “The turnout was massive. Families came for the day and set up picnics after participating in the games. The weather was hot and sunny, and everyone had a good time with every area of the centre being used.”

We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
