Planned Partial Centre Closures

Welwyn & Hatfield council has been awarded a government grant of £1.7m to reduce carbon-based fuel at some of the council's most popular public sites. The council's successful application to the government’s Public Sector Decarbonisation Grant Scheme will allow significant works to be carried out here at Hatfield Swim Centre.

The grant of £998,910 will enable the replacement of the gas-fired boilers with a combined ASHP (Air Source Heat Pump) and WSHP (Water Source Heat Pump) primary plant system. The high efficiency of heat pumps will lead to energy savings and reduce the energy consumption of the primary heating plant. The grant for this work totals £733,867.00. 

However, due to these works we unfortunately have some partial centre closures.

Sauna & Steam - Health Suite

The health suite at Hatfield Swim Centre will be closed from Monday 22nd November to Friday 3rd December - We’re aiming to re-open our health suite on Saturday 4th December  and resume our normal timetable from 8:00am.

However - During the 2 week closure, for aged 16+ memberships, it will allow you access to use the health suite over at Gosling Sports Park, Welwyn Garden City. 

Swimming Pools - Main Pool & Small Pool

The swimming pools at Hatfield Swim Centre will be closed from Monday 29th November to Friday 10th December - We’re aiming to re-open our pools on the Saturday 11th December.

For swimming lesson booked in during the 2 week closure, cusomters will receive a cancellation notice email and your missed lessons will be credited and not taken during the January direct debit.
