Alison's story here at Hatfield Swim Centre
I had been gravely ill and had to learn to walk again back at the end of 2015. After losing 8 and a half stone through slimming world, I then needed to be able to get fitter, maintain my weight, tone my body strength and I needed those happy endorphins so that’s when I joined Hatfield Swim Centre at the start of April 2017.
The instructors took the time to take me through the machines and exercises that would benefit me, and then I went away. I then decided to try the treadmill. In July of the same year I tried a little bit of running and it felt great. This encouraged me then to go on and do a 10k run in October at Hatfield House. I have since carried on running more for enjoyment, and attend the gym regularly. I have also made friends in the gym and joined in with a few of them to do a 5k inflatable.
I can’t recommend enough how great this gym is for such a friendly atmosphere and support all round. You can comfortably go to this gym and not feel judged at all but feel those endorphins kick in instead.
