Stanborough Park was pleased to host the Hatfield Rotary Club annual Charity Santa Fun Run in December

The Rotary Club have recently sent an update:

"All our runners enjoyed the occasion and you will be pleased to know that we raised approximately £1000.00 for local charities, some of which has gone to JOCA (Just One Click Away) - a local charity based at Welwyn Rugby Club which seeks to help young people with suicidal tendencies by providing specialist professional counselling for at risk young people."

Welwyn based mental health charity JOCA has been chosen by the new Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield, Cllr Peter Hebden, as his charity for the year.

Suicide is the single largest cause of death among young men in the UK, and rising. JOCA was founded by Welwyn Rugby Club members following the tragic loss of lives at the Club through suicide.

The charity now has a support team on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week via the following email address: joca@welwynrfc.co.uk

Stanborough Park has continued to support the Rotary Club by way of the annual Santa Fun Run event

Rotary Clubs have several informal committees, one of which is dedicated to helping our local community (Welwyn & Hatfield)

Each group has a budget which can spend monies raised by Club fundraising events throughout the year including the Santa Fun Run

We look forward to continue working with and supporting charities that are so important to the members of our community. If you would like to be part of any of our fundraising events, please contact The Rotary Club for more information.
