As you may be aware, the construction of your new bigger and better Leisure Centre is well underway. The extension will bring new and exciting facilities for all our customers and we can’t wait to share them with you.
We will also be redeveloping our current facilities which include:
- Expansion of the Gym and a new Dance Studio
- New Fitness Equipment
- New Fitness Changing Rooms
- New Swimming Pool Changing Rooms
- New Crèche
- New Swimming Pool Spectator Viewing Area
- New Better Coffee Corners
- New Trampoline Park
- New Monster Soft Play Zone
- New Sports Hall
In order for us to provide these great improvements there will unfortunately need to be some unavoidable disruptions to our usual service.
The new crèche and café will be built using the existing crèche/studio space, and the ‘bus stop’ feature will be removed, creating more seating and space for the café and pool viewing.
Due to these works, the seating area and studio will have to be closed for a short period of time, so that the area can be safely redeveloped. Closing these areas in full for this period will allow work to be completed in a much quicker timeframe, meaning they will be available to customers much earlier than expected.
The work in this area will be commencing on Monday 25th March for approximately 8 weeks.
How will this affect you as a Crèche user?
As a result, we will not be able to run Crèche during that time. We really do apologise for this disruption and hope you can understand the disruption is completely unavoidable, but necessary to give you much improved facilities once complete.
Please note during this time you are more than welcome to use one of our other crèche facilities which are also included in your memberships. Windrush Leisure Centre, in Witney, offers a Crèche on the following days and times.
- Monday 9am – 12pm
- Wednesday 9am – 12pm
- Friday 9am – 12pm
How will this affect you as a Health & Fitness Class user?
We want to keep all classes operation during the period of work and the only way possible to do that is to relocate the classes to the Sports Pavilion on Monahan Way.
For fitness class users, nothing will change apart from the venue. The process of booking and paying for classes (if applicable) will remain the same, the music system will be available on site for all classes, the fantastic teachers will be the same and the equipment will on be on site for every class. No excuse for the teachers not to work you as hard as normal!
All of the teachers are aware of the change in location and will be reminding all class attendees in the lead up to the location change of venue. If you are unsure of the new location and/or need directions then please don’t hesitate to ask a member of staff who will be happy to help.
How will this affect you as a Swim School Parent or Guardian?
As a result, we will need to closing the current pool viewing area. We really do apologise for this disruption and hope you can understand the disruption is completely unavoidable, but necessary to give you much improved facilities once complete.
Please note during this time we will be relocating the tables and chairs to the area outside of the gym although this will mean you are unable to see poolside, alternatively we will be allowing parents to sit on poolside during this time.
If you do wish to sit on poolside during the lessons we ask you to we kindly ask you to help us reduce the number of people on poolside by keeping observers to a minimum and when possible leave children who are not in lessons at home. This is to keep any distractions to a complete minimum.
Please ensure that you wear the pool overshoes provided at all times (these can be found at the entrance to the changing rooms), no food or drink is permitted on poolside - for hygiene reasons. Please do not use mobile phones whilst on poolside and ensure they are on silent to prevent any disruptions to the lessons taking place. We would like to remind you no photo's can be taken in accordance with our child protection policy.
We would like to thank you for your understanding and joining us in looking forward to seeing the first newly refurbished area inside the existing Leisure Centre.
