Mark Harney continued a successful season with a win at the Maltby Super Sprint Triathlon. Swimming 200m, cycling 12km and finishing with a 2.5km run, Mark not only picked up 1st place for his age group but also placed 1st male and 1st overall.

Mark commented “It's a fabulous event and whilst only 39 competitors competed the triathlon; you've still got to be in it to win it.”

The triathlon finished a busy weekend for Mark who the day before delivered a Guide Running Awareness Workshop on the Saturday morning, training 17 new VI guides with MySight York; for use at the 3 York Park Runs and Junior Park Runs.

In the afternoon Mark and a group of newly trained Visually Impaired/Blind guides for VI runners attended the British Blind Sport Have a Go event at Better Energise Leisure Centre. 30 blind and partially sighted participants had a go at guide running allowing the volunteers to practically apply their new skills.

Sporting success and supporting inclusive sport, well done Mark!
