Library Services Now Open in Lincolnshire: Important Information

Boston Library is holding a week of special events during October 8-13 to celebrate Libraries Week.

 

Libraries Week is the annual showcase of the best that UK libraries of all kinds have to offer. In 2018, with a focus on wellbeing, libraries across Lincolnshire will showcase how they bring communities together, combat loneliness, provide a space for reading and creativity, and help people of all ages with their mental health and wellbeing.

 

As detailed below, the team at Boston Library have a range of activities with a wellbeing focus for adults and children planned including Tai Chi, lunchtime Armchair yoga and mindfulness, Coop Pharmacy Health Check and a visit from staff from Wellbeing Lincs. There is also of course the chance to choose from our wide ranging collections of books which include titles from the national Books on Prescription and Shelf Help schemes.

Well Being Lincs Monday 8th October 10.00am-3.00pm Speak to Maddie to find out how Wellbeing Lincs can help you to achieve a confident, fulfilled and independent life.

Health Check Drop In Session Tuesday 9th October 10.00am-12.00noon Pop in and let staff from CoOp Pharmacy give a you a basic health MOT.

Shared Readers Wednesday 10th October 10.00am-12.00am Pop in to find out more about our very successful Shared Readers group which meets fortnightly on Mondays at Boston Library.

Lunchtime Armchair Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness Thursday 11th October 12.00noon - 2.00pm Pop along to our armchair yoga session, meditate your worries away and learn some mindfulness techniques to improve your mental and physical health at our informal lunchtime session.

Thursday Crafters Thursday 11th October 10.00am -12.00noon Relax while you work on your latest project at our friendly craft club.

Tai Chi Demonstration Friday 12th October 9.30am-10.30am Join Cilla to find out how Tai Chi can help you find the way to fitness and wellbeing.

Blackfriars Choir Saturday 13th October from 11.30am To celebrate Libraries Week join Blackfriars Choir and let them serenade you in Boston Library.
