Book Lending

Whatever your age or interest we have a wide range of books that you can borrow for free. You may borrow up to 30 books for up to four weeks. Large print and talking books are also available. Click on the link below to search our catalogue.

Computers

Enjoy free internet access to help you with your studies or research, for checking your email or simply for surfing the web. You can also use our computers for writing letters, preparing a CV or having a look at your holiday photos.

Printing and Photocopying

We offer printing and photocopying in black and white and colour for a small fee.

 

Free WiFi

Free Wi-Fi is available in the library.

Newspapers

Keep up to date with our wide selection of local and national newspapers and magazines.

Local and Family History

Lincoln Central Library holds the major local studies collection for the County of Lincolnshire with resources including books, maps, photographs and pamphlets. Historic newspapers are also held on microfilm along with census records. Details of online resources to aid family historians can be found in the section below.

Library Shop

Our Library Shop stocks a variety of reading and literary themed gifts sure to bring a smile to any book lovers face. Reading Journals,  book ends, reading rubber ducks and beautiful necklaces and broaches are among the many items on sale.

Room Hire

Lincoln Central Library provides two rooms available for hire by community groups or businesses. The Community Room can seat up to 80 and has a separate kitchen. The smaller Activity Room seats up to 20 and includes a small kitchenette. With competitive rates for its city center location the Library is the ideal location for your meeting or event. Reading Garden

An attractive oasis in the city center where customers can sit, read, and relax. The wireless signal reaches into the garden too, allowing customers to sit outside and use their laptops in warmer weather. The Reading Garden is also used for a variety of children’s activities as well as live music events.

Readers Groups Services

As well as being an enjoyable social experience being part of a reading group is a great way to expand your reading horizons.

Drama Groups Services

Single and multiple copies of playsets are available for theatre and drama groups to borrow.
