The Summer Reading Challenge combines FREE access to books with fun, creative activities during the summer holidays. Throughout the Challenge, library staff will help you discover new authors and illustrators and explore a wide range of different types of books and ways of reading.

How the Challenge works

  • Sign up at Market Rasen Library and receive a Wild World Heroes collector poster
  • Borrow and read library books of your own choice during the summer, collecting special stickers to complete your poster and prizes for every two book read.
  • Complete  the Summer Reading Challenge and you’ll get a certificate and medal
  • The official Challenge website, wildworldheroes.org.uk, hosts digital rewards, author videos, games and more for you to enjoy all summer

Join in with fun craft activities at Market Rasen Library on the below dates, spaces are limited so do book your place with library staff in advance.

Wednesday 4th August, 2pm and 3.30pm – Wild world heroes mural, rock painting and how to nature journal.

Wednesday 11th August,2pm and 3.30pm – Woodland wildlife, bird feeders and leaves

Wednesday 18th August, 2pm and 3.30pm – All about pollination, flower bombs and bug hotels

Wednesday 25th August 2pm and 3.30pm – Pollution and waste, Wind powered cars, how to shop with less plastic waste.
