The Summer Reading Challenge combines FREE access to books with fun, creative activities during the summer holidays. Throughout the Challenge, library staff will help you discover new authors and illustrators and explore a wide range of different types of books and ways of reading.

How the Challenge works

  • Sign up at Sleaford Library and receive a Wild World Heroes collector poster
  • Borrow and read library books of your own choice during the summer, collecting special stickers to complete your poster and prizes for every two book read.
  • Complete  the Summer Reading Challenge and you’ll get a certificate and medal
  • The official Challenge website, wildworldheroes.org.uk, hosts digital rewards, author videos, games and more for you to enjoy all summer

Sleaford Library are holding six themed craft events during the holidays to help you get creative and thinking about how you can be a Wild Hero and help to save the planet. There are three one hour sessions a day starting at 9.45am, 11amand 3pmand as places are limited you need to book in advance with library staff.

9th August - Mosaic pictures

16th August – Bee crafty!

19th August – Happy spider hand puppet

23rd August – Octopus crafting

31st August – Leaping Lizards!
